We get a ton of questions on how to start an impression so we’re going to try to answer most of them through a locked thread. This is just meant as a starting point and is no where near a “chiseled in stone” area so hit your notify area as this thread will be expanding. First off I’d like to thank the unit authenticity officers who have replied already with links as those are the best start point. First things first, to define what area of WWII you want to interpret. Since the start point is boots with any impression knowing the Nation and Specialty you are going to do is top on the list. For Airforce it is shoes, Infantry is Leg Boots and Airborne is Jump Boots, Irrespective of any nationality. The reason for this is that most units will have some loaner gear but foot wear and under drawers are not part of the pass around gear. Here are some sites showing units represented in our forum.
