Good evening. My name is John Phillips and I am very keen to get into WW2 enactment. I am 53 years old, my Farther was in the Royal Air Force 1939 to 1946 and my uncle fought in the BEF, being evacuated at Dunkirk then fought the Italians in the desert before being moved to and taken POW in Crete. I have always had an interest in WW 2, I enjoy the music from that period too. I have just started a WW2 collection and currently have (deactivated) a 1940 dove tailed Bren, 1942 Enfield No.4, Thompson Sub Machine gun and a Webley service revolver. I have a desert uniform (Captain SAS). I choose desert because, my Uncle served there and also because I am allergic to Wool (yep, sad I know). My Dad was too and had to sew silk to the colours of his uniforms! I could go on and on about the stories he told me but will cut it short before you doze off! I also run a wargaming club, we play WW2 Bolt Action and I am a respected and well know figure painted (blowing my own trumpet or should that be Bugle?) I have lots of questions and a lot to learn! All the best, John
