Hello everyone, For about a year now I have been working on restoring a 1943 GPW. I have accomplished quite a bit, putting in brand new brake system(lines, Master/slave cylinders, etc) rebuilt the transmission, put in all new wiring, bought and installed, starter, oil filter, muffler, intake/exhaust manifolds, gas pedal, chock/throttle cables, temp sensor, spark plugs/wires, radiator, 3 wheels and tires and rebuilt carb. But there is a lot left to do, engine rebuild, take another look at tranny since it wont shift into 1st or reverse. Obtain WWII windshield frame and cross bars for canvas top, buy and install horn, get the frame straitened, painted. There is more to do, I cant remember all at this time. I started out full of piss and vinegar I could finish in a year, but I was wrong. What drives me to complete this project quickly is my 98yr old grandfather. He served during WWII and has told me several stories, some of which involve a jeep. He has told me several times how much he would like to see and ride in a jeep again. When I bought the jeep I never planned to ask for monetary help but my grandfather's health has taken a drastic downward turn recently. If any of you could help me complete this project and fulfill my grandfathers wish I would be eternally grateful to say the least.
