I have been out of reenacting for a few years and I'm looking to get back into the hobby. Unfortunately I got out because of past relationship issues and money, so I sold almost all of my kit to pay off debt. I have a desire to do a Chaplain impression due to my strong faith and wanting to tell the story of the men who served God in the field. But, I realize that might not be an option right away. Just putting this general question out there and see what you guys think. Is it best to find a unit and see what opportunity may be there to serve in a Chaplain role, or put the impression together? I would prefer to do leg infantry(not airborne) and I'm located in PA. Thanks.

I would find a unit first that represents the authenticity levels you adhere to. Not all units are alike in that regard.
