Can anybody help me identify this DUI

Hey Guys,
My wives grandpa who passed away last year was a lt in the army during WWII and also Korea. I don't have any of his paperwork, but I do have a few uniform items and I was wondering if any of you could identify one of his DUI's. All I know about him was that I believe he was a company commander in an engineer unit. I know he was drafted in WW2, but I'm fairly certain that this insignia is from his time in Korea. I would guess that it is from an engineering or pioneering unit given that it has the pickaxe and shovel on it. Any help would be appreciated.
