Hello. I am very new to reenactment but I try to be as accurate as possible. I did a lot of research before starting to get my stuff together (101st ABD @ D-Day). Now I'm pretty good equipped (most repro but good repro)
Now the question: I'm going to visit Normandy on early to mid June 2015 but I'm going all by myself. Do you think it looks weird if I go fully equipped? Or should I go as civilian? As newbi I don't want to look fool...
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
See you around.

I think it would be a very nice tribute if you went in your gear, and you may even see some veterans there who would really appreciate your impression.

I`ve seen several recent pics of reenactors during the Normandy D-Day ceremonies. I would think they would welcome it at any time in the WWII themed tourist areas. Like the local events, there`s a good chance you can fall in with others there and not feel out of place. Welcome to WWII reenacting !

Thank you for your encouragement folks. I'll go with jump suit minus weapons. I've asked the 101st museum in Sainte Mere Eglise and they told me they can't allow access to armed persons. Even if the arms are just non-firing replicas. I can fully understand that considering the actual situation in the world... Maybe I see you there around?! Have a nice day!
