Hey guys! Had a question, out of curiosity.
For those of you portraying a soldier in a certain/specific country, do you guys assume an alternate identity for your impressions?
Especially the German side, for those who carry a Soldbuch? Reason I ask is because I am apart of a group who portray the 1st SS Leibstandarte "Adolf Hitler" and I recently purchased, and received my SS Soldbuch to fill out, and all that fun stuff.
For Example: My full name is rather Scandinavian, Robert Landvik. I portray a German, and lets say I decided to assume a more Germanic name like....Robert Muller, or even Wilhelm Muller?
I was just curious if anyone is does this, or has thought about doing this, or not? If so, do you think it makes it more realistic? What are your thoughts?

An alternate impression in a soldbuch doesnt really matter. In the unit I'm in everyone calls each other by there "German" first name. I dont event know some members "real" names off hand. I think it adds a bit nore realism when shouting names in the field. Whats wrong with your real name as a German name? Not all German soldiers had hardcore German names, perhaps you were a "volunteer" from another country?

Well I was just picked a stereotypical Germanic name as an example.
That and I'm not 100% sure if Finnish volunteers were ever placed into the Leibstandarte though haha. I know there was a few Scandinavian SS units made up of volunteers over the course of the war, but yeah. I was just curious as to what others thoughts were on the matter. Thanks for your input though, was appreciated.
