Hello, name is Rob. I'm from Minnesota, and I am new to this hobby. Really looking forward to keep this hobby going.
I was recently "recruited" into a group here in MN about a month ago, we portray the 1st SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler. I believe we are one of two German reenactor groups in the state, along with the 2nd SS. It's been kind of one of my dreams to join one of these groups since I was in high school, and I'm 24 now. I didn't really know what channels to go through to be a part of some thing like this. I managed to join when I went to a D-Day themed Airsoft tournament this summer. We were playing on the groups home field, and some of the members showed up in full uniform, steel weapons and all, and played the games with us adding a more realistic effect to the games. Later in the event their leader mentioned that they were doing recruiting, and that's when my head perked up and told myself "I have to talk to this guy!" haha. Now I'm here. Our group is heading to Rockford next month, I'm kinda hoping I got some of my shit together so I can go with them and it would be my first reenactment. But who knows, if not Rockford, there is always another event I can look forward to!
Some more about myself: I've been a World War 2 researcher/buff/freak/fanatic since I was in Elementary School. My strong side of my studies/knowledge lay within the European Campaign, and the Third Reich. But I am learning something new practically everyday, which is what keeps me intrigued. I dabble a bit inside the First World War. I am also a musician. Play decent amount of instruments ranging from Guitar, Piano, Drums/Percussion, and Trombone. I'm a bit of an artist. Love to draw, and doodle. I speak a bit of German as well, took about 2-3 years of it in High School. For work I am a Operator/Machinist for CNC Lathes and Mills.
