Evening Gents,
This is a little offering from an "old hand" here on the forums... its been a LONG time since I've posted a kit. I know at least a few years...
This has been a kit in the making for a while now... but, with a new job and life... its been made a reality finally. lol
The first kit is set for mid-Febrary, 1942. Primary impression is that of a TM2c of PT 31. The 31 crew lost their boat in January, 1942. However, they with the 33 crew(lost their boat on Dec. 15th, 1941)were a stop gap measure and would fill in when men were wounded or sick aboard the various boats. However, the 31 and 33 crews were turned over to the Provisional Naval Battalion on Corregidor under the 4th Marines in February, 1942 when MTBS 3 shipped out for Mindanao with MacArthur and other key personnel. The squadron would not return and they were sent to fight for a short time on Bataan and finally on Corregidor.
I hope you guys enjoy the pictures... as many know, I like to look "put together" like a soldier or sailor should but, as one good friend put it... "you have to realize... there are Japs all around.. perhaps near crawling out your butt... you're not dressing for the parade ground, you have greater things to worry about." lol What can I say, I heavily criticize myself. lol
Anyways, all critiques and comments are welcome... I hope you all enjoy these as much as I did putting them together for you guys. Perhaps, they'll help someone as a guide to what perhaps Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers and Marines may have looked like on Bataan and Corregidor in 1941 - 1942 in those odd little units formed in haste and necessity.
Enjoy fellers...
