Hi fellow reenactors! My name's Jamie and I started off reenactment in Britain in 2009 with a larger group called Normandy 44, who mainly portrayed the 2nd Ranger BN. My Dad worked for the US Gov. so I've moved around a lot and most recently have found myself in Germany where I'm also attached to a US Army Reserve unit as a PFC. I'm moving back to the States sometime in 2013 to go to college and what not and thought I'd start looking for some Groups in the Florida area since you can never Start early enough. I have lots of gear so I can do most any impression. Looking for a group that is very accurate, any advice where to start looking would be much appreciated! Just a few photos to throw in: 2nd Ranger in action: i45.tinypic.com/jpx9c0.jpg106th ID: i49.tinypic.com/xbefb9.jpgAt work : i48.tinypic.com/29f80w7.jpgPlease post photos as links only. Thanks.

There are 3 principle US units in Florida:
101st Airborne (tho we do other impressions also)
2nd Rangers
1st ID
We're currently booking events in 2013. Let us know which month you'll be here and we'll tell you when/where the next event is. We average 2 a month sometimes, but always at least one in any given month. Tacticals are usually held Dec-Jan and the rest are living histories with/without public battles. Major air shows are March and November.

Thanks for all the welcomes so far! I'll probably arrive some time in the fall, probably won't be squared away until early 2014 for any events really. I'll see what comes about! 101st, 2nd and 1st all sound good, I started as a 2nd Ranger so it's what I feel drawn to but of course I don't mind experimenting with new impressions... Do most groups let you come a long to an event and see how you like the group and vice versa?

SOunds like you'll be getting boots on the ground during the meat of the season. October, November, December, January, February, and March tend to be relative heavy event-wise because those are the months that it isn't stinkin' rottin' hot.

Sounds good to me, hope I get there in time, my unit seems interested in keeping me in Germany for a few extra months because they need the manpower since we're supporting our sister Company that's going downrange. Also career progression purposes... Hope I don't miss the whole season.
