my grandfather is a bit of a gun collector and recently he sold a WWII .38 smith&wesson revolver but he didn't sell the holster I have been trying to identify it as I am not sure its the right holster and I am intersted in its value. can anyone help heres a pic of it. right now Im using it for my bearcat if it was worth something I wouldn't. it has a dsa number on it and was made by warren leather goods co it has us stamped on the front and back in various places. i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm80/Johndeereman19/holster.jpg

I'm sure there is an official name but I've always called them convertable shoulder holsters as the hip holster is used. The design is Pre-WWI however the model with the DSA number is post war and most likely Vietnam.
As for value it was Grandpaps holster so it's priceless. Someone elses would go for cheap.

That shoulder strap/holster can also slide onto a garrison belt as well, i have one that is identical.
