Looks awesome! Weather must be great, hope its not too hot for everyone. Side note, why would anyone pay so much for an authentic impression and then wear modern looking sunglasses!?! Still looks great and good to see so many different impressions represented. Hepkat

This event has got to stiffen up its regulation for German reenactors.. I've seen beards, mustaches, goatees, timex watches, very very poor on the authenticity of German soldats.

There are no authenticity regulations. I saw people in paratrooper gear hitting the beach. I would not be surprised if Marines and Vietnam impressions were seen on the beach as well!

JumpinJames, did you happen to tell someone, like a staff member about this (we have the modern radios on our person)? I kicked a few people out of the airborne battles for S&A. We do have Authenticity standards. We have asked people to change, fix it, or leave. It has to be brought to our attention as we can not police every single person. Back when each group had to form up and get a card stamped everyone bitched that it took to long. So we turned the responsibility over to the unit CO's. they stamp and sign a form taking responsibility for the men under their command. If there is an issue it falls on them. Maybe next year we will have to go back to all units being inspected before 9 am on Saturday for the beach landing. Once the 4000+ photos get online I will pour through them and then make a suggestion in the first planning meeting in November.
Thanks,
Steven Cooper Allied Airborne Commander CO 5th Rangers D Company

Hmm... I'm not seeing a link or any photos. Have they been removed or am I missing something?

Hmm... I'm not seeing a link or any photos. Have they been removed or am I missing something? In the first post, where it says "d-day conneaut 2nd day", that is the link to his pics. I was confused at first too. Just looked at pics from the first day and the Fussball game looks like it was pretty fun!

Also saw a M-1945 Command Tent in the "authentic" camp! Chief Mike As for the camp we try and keep the correct US WW2 tents to the front, and the Korean War Canvas to the rear. If we forced all units to only bring correct WW2 tents (which I personally think would be great) we wouldn't have the numbers. And if we are going to go that far I would then ask that everyone over the age of 40, over weight, out of shape, and not fit for army service to step out of the ranks. I would rather have an M-1945 command tent in the back of camp, then 30 pup tents where they do not belong. Not to sound like an a$$hole but groups have growing pains. I can say that my unit has all of the correct tents (over $9000 in canvas 6 small walls and a M37 Pyramid) and some groups don't have that kind of cash so they use the "newer" canvas instead of pups.
