Interesting! Nice to see some lighter side photos from the war.

c'mon Bill, you know the only reason you like that photo is it gives you photgraphic evidence that you can start using a bull horn to scream at people...I know how you crafty crew chiefs work...

Interesting! Nice to see some lighter side photos from the war. Dunno about that Bill. Being a flyboy, the outcome of the game might be disappointing to you. The score was 5th Army 20 12th Air Force 0

Love it - but I doubt my daughter's team will accept those uniforms!

I like the mixture of men and women's uniform pieces on the WACS.

I also noticed that. Proves the old adage was right "You wore what you had." That was told to me by a vet of the CBI theatre.

I asked him what he wore and he said, because they were at the end of the supply chain, whatever he could find--largely a mixture of U.S. Army and British Army uniform items. CM

That's exactly it Martha! Women were in the minority and not a priority in the supply chain. I've been saying this for years but I still get guys that walk up to me and think they're some sort of genius when they point out I'm wearing men's trousers. ah well I know I'm doing what's right -Sarah

Sarah,
Indeed you are correct and research supports your argument at least for early war field uniforms. North Africa and Italy especially.
See Stanton, Shelby. US Army Uniforms of World War II Stackpole Books, Mechanicsburg, PA. 1991. Pg. 212
