Thanks! Sorry for no pics of me in the uniform guys but, I don't have it all together finished yet once I have it completed I'll take some better pics but, I wanted to show progress is being made after all these years. I chose the 509th Composite Group because, 20th USAAF units aren't being recreated much. I figured it'd make a great PTO impression and shed some light on the men flying the high altitude missions over Japan! Regards, FRISCAN

Nice jacket Hart Schaffner and Marx, I didn't know they made uniforms, my aunt used to work for the company. Looks slick.

Thanks Nick! Yeah, when I found it the exterior looked good but, the interior was beginning to fall a part somewhat. I repaired it to preserve it. Myself and Mike Dixon got this M-1926 officers service blouse in combination with a pair of pink officers trousers in 32 x 33 and a later officers service blouse in better condition all for $45. So, I think we came out ahead in the deal. The guy was a friend of mine and just want to get rid of the stuff. Regards, FRISCAN

Friscan,
So your impression will eventually be pre/early war?
Mike
I might have a source on another Dehner war time Sam Browne. Cheaper than a new one. I'll PM you Monday. What size waist do you have?

Hey Mike, My impression is to be as one of Col. Tibbett's confidants. All of the pilots under his command he'd had personal experience with. Thats why they were chosen. My impression is as the Aircraft Commander of Crew A-2 "Laggin' Dragon." So, the pilots under his command were pre-war and wartime pilots. Mine is set somewhere in the 1944-45 timeframe. I'm portraying simply a captain that continued to utilize his earlier uniforms. Officers got away with WAAAYY more than enlisted were allowed to get away with. In the 509th Composite Group though there really was no uniformity, they were simply a secretive group that under Tibbett's and Groves strictly answered directly to the President of the United States. I'm going to get the later coats as well to go with the impression however. BTW, my waist size is 32. Regards, FRISCAN
