Looks pretty good, but you look too young and smart to start smoking. It's a nasty habit that only takes money out of your pocket. Money you could use to buy "crap" from us. ;D
Is that a real, full-auto M1 Thompson?

Might want to change those pictures to URL's before the staff changes them...
Otherwise, great looking pictures.

Looking good!
It looks like you put a lot of work into it, but it also looks like your wearing a post-war pistol belt?

I like the idea of a prop ciggy! HA!
Watch out for splinters, oh, and that nasty tasting grey stuff - that's pencil lead. Just a safety tip there.

The belt is deffinatly nam era and luckily pistol belts aren't to bad. Originals can be found for $10 to $20 if you know where to look.

The helmet net is actually from a West German helmet I picked up at a thrift store. Im going to keep the liner until I can get a para one. And yes I did get my Jumpsuit from Hessen-Antique.

I can tell. The advice I took from Martin (Boogiewoogie) was to paint my snaps black. The bronze ones look cheap.

Just out of curiosity, what is the best kind of paint to use for that? Andrew two coats of flat black model paint. Might be good to put a flat/non sheen clear seal over it. Travis

Andrew, The guys pretty much hit everything but I'll roll it all up in case they missed something. 1. Wrong helmet net. 3/4 inch is correct and if you are doing Normandy impression you'll need khaki not OD. WPG has them for $3 IIRC. 2. Helmet liner. JMurray Inc can set you up with the proper replacement hardware and webbing for little $$$. No need to get a new liner when you can just replace a few things to make it correct. 3. Modern leather combat boots. You can get real brown corcorans for $110 delivered from: www.botachtactical.com/ You can't beat the real thing. 4. Suspenders need some friction tape to tie down loose ends. 5. Pistol belt. Nuff said from the other guys. 6. Painting buttons on the jump suit. You're already taking care of it. 7. Sling on the Thompson. Covered by Pfc Skinny 8. Since you're an NCO you may want to get a compass and pouch. An NCO would have one, especially a SSG. Maybe a pistol and ammo pouch too. 9. Do some photo research regarding the white scarf/silk map. The 3rd Bn may have worn theirs somewhere specific (I think 2/502 wore theirs on their left arm/shoulder, 3rd Bn may have done something similar). Yours may be in the right place but I'm not sure. 10. Wash your jump suit in cold water and let it air dry about a dozen times. It'll wear some of that new color out of it. Overall you're impression looks good for the first time out. You're well on your way to having a kickass one. Keep up the good work. Although my unit does E/506 take a look at our photo section for reference. www.easy506th.org/ We're usually pretty good with regard to accuracy. R/ Mooch
