This was our first time at the Stuart Airshow in Stuart, Florida and we really didn't know what to expect as far as crowd size and aircraft availability. Needless to say, we sort of tried a bit of an impromptu photo session, and these are the result. These are unedited, uncropped, and totally amateur, but they were a hoot to do and I can't wait for a better opportunity to come along! At the camp. I'm in the back, on the far side of the .50 cal. This is me playing co-pilot. Me explaining the mission briefing to the chief and flight officers. Hamming it up with ordinance. Posing with "Killer Bee".

NO BIB!! They hardly wore them and if they did it was only on a major overhaul and you couldn't get away for awhile. And yes I saw the Brooklyn hat, it's too clean BUT it is a brooklyn hat. lol Looking good! By the way I wear a 31 white Sox hat! Scott

He's done some work on her and got us an intro to Tom Reilly. Unfortunately the air show crowd thickened up when we rolled up in a jeep and we couldn't get much more than what we have under the port wing. We got the cockpit and nose shots on Sunday. Here's a jeep shot, after the crowd had gotten it's share of posing with the pilots and flight crew. That's Skip's daughter in the white t-shirt. The crew of both the "Killer Bee" and "Barbie" were great to work with. I'm hoping to coordinate something with them again.

It's not that dirty because my real job is sheetmetal and I stay cleaner than the grease monkeys that work on the other systems. Also both planes I work on (B-17 and XP-82) are just in the air frame stage now, no engines or hydraulics yet.

I met a veteran at WalMart the other day that was a sheet metal guy in WWII, worked mostly on B-24s. He also was in Korea. I wish I would have gotten his name and address.

While she was down here in AZ we tried to set up with the fellow to "add" to the peoples rides by having and authentic ground crew marshall them out and in BUT they never got back in touch with us.

All great shots. Just a suggestion for the future. Not too many know this but the B-25H didn't actually have a co-pilot. I made the same mistake until after I was part of the Weary Warriors working on Barbie III. I was reading a little more on the history of the H model. It's really interesting to know that little fact. Still!!, awesome shots!!

Thanks for the compliments, guys! Credit should go to Ted Smith for giving us an "in" with Tom Reilly on the Killer B. The Barbie people were cool about having us pose, too, so long as we stayed out of their way.
