I've had several veterans ask whether or not I was carrying my proper paperwork, and it's also nice to "show off" to the public.

I always love the look on the Gendarme's face when I hand him my soldbuch and it is actually filled out!
Yeah rarely anyone but me knows it is filled out, or that I have a period fountain pen and mechanical pencil, passes, money, photos, and lots of other pocket stuffers. But to me it is all part of doing it complete.
I know it is there!

At a living history event? I like to keep my pockets full of "cr@p". ID.....passes....invasion money, etc..... At a tactical??? I go as light as possable. First off, it's doubtfull I'll ever need any of it. Second, it's likely to get either lost or destroyed (spend the night sleeping in a wet foxhole, and the invasion currancy you worked so hard to print......is now wet pulp and the ink is now permanently part of your mustard trousers!)
.................heck, I don't even keep my REAL wallet on me at a tactical!
