gk43forum.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=476 I'm the one with the MP44. The reason I had pouches and a bandoleer was that we had a very long tactical and I was afraid of running out of ammo. Turns out I didn't need to take it all, but it was comforting to have it when leaving camp at 4am not knowing when we'd be done! My unit is 3/FJ Pi Btl 1 out of PA under command of LT Erich Loych. www.greendevils.com

Are your guys MP44s full or just semi? We have two that are semi and a 3rd in the works.

Currently I use an FA 1945 matching # fxo MP44 but have several parts kits set aside. (The other guy uses a 1944 non-matching qlv MP44) I want to build a semi so the expensive stuff can stay at home. This summer I built a rewelding jig and one receiver is set up and ready to go, just never got the time to do it yet. I'd love to talk to you guys about how you did your builds. (I'm planning on following one that was documented on the GK43 forum) I want to be really careful so it's completely legit.
At the last reenactment there was a semi there but I met the guy out on the battlefield around 12:30am and I was too tired to remember to ask him how it was converted.

Pietje, As I said in my PM, outstanding early war pics. I just love the early stuff...Narvik, Holland Eben Emael, Greece, Kreta and Egypt/ Libya. Stirring stuff and IMO the best looking FJ uniforms. Also in the days of parachute trained men...much more impressive than the later war cobbled together look! I particularly like the bridge comparison phot! Inspirational!
Great stuff, keep up the good work.

You guys will all match??? I thought FJ was known for non uniformaty I know this is bringing up an old part of this thread, but when it comes to camo helmets since the were usually painted in the field on a unit level usually by one or two guys, there should be an air of simularity between the helmets.

Yep, I painted all my units helmets so they should look the same.

A buddy and I were hanging out working on some projects and decided to have a go with an old pentax, so we loaded up some high speed black and white film and went at it. This is about half of what we ended up with. 15 Fallschirm-Regiment, Normandy, summer 1944 Let me know what you think! s932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/42ndRHRfife/
