Not sure if this is exactly what your after but here's a link to the 'Montys Men' site. It's an umbrella organisation for a number of groups in the U.K. to facilitate trips over to the European battlefields. If you go into the 'Units' section there's pictures of our previous Infantry incarnations: www.living-history.org.uk/mm/index.htm

Then took a hiatus for a while, now getting back doing brit, mainly Irish Fusiliers in the 38th Irish Brigade..north africa, sciliy and Italy. Thats a great pic with you and scott, mark, and Doc Juan We should definately get together when possible, I know we are doing seperate units, but it would be great to brigade together, scince we have the same theater of Operations Thanks for the pics!! Actually it's at Von Kessingers Express in Parrish, Florida... I don't live too far from there. It's near Brandon area... The bloke on the extreme right is not Juan, although Juan and his Bren gun are still members of the British Para... I believe the guy on the right is John, he also runs with the 2nd ID, and 197th Guards. Regards, Pte. Mills

Good idea to start a British photo topic. As soon as I get all the kit in order for my Somerset Light Infantry endevour, I intend to fire off a couple photos here. It might take a while though.
I checked out the "Monty's Men" site and all I can say is that I am jealous. I'd love to see something like that take place here on this side of the Atlantic. I had seen the phots for the Durham Light Infantry before, and taking another look they still amaze me.
I could have sworn a while back I saw something alongs the same lines here in the States. I think it was called "Poor Bloody Infantry", sort of a parent org. for those who reenact British Infantry of line here in the States. I looked again here in this site and did not see it. Does anyone know if they are still around? Mark

We discovered the joy of Blanco and did more of our stuff up this winter. We need to work on that across the board in the US. Martin Did you find a source for honest-to-God Blanco, or did you use the green shoe polish that Jerry Lee said made an OK substitute?

Why is everybody a bleeding Para, for pete-sake, I've seen a tiny grouping of infantry, but a friggin ton of paras, and slightly chunky paras I might add. It's getting as bad as the GI-Airborn ratio. When spectators look on, they may start thinking the war was fought by rangers, airborn, and paras, Vs. SS, Fjs, and SS-Fjs.
No offence to anyone, but lets get some honest to god Tommy impressions going, they're the ones that won the bloody war.
just an infantrymans rant, breaking up the soap box now,

I'd like to see more line infantry units out there, but here on the west coast, I've seen them start and collapse while 1st Airborne keeps going strong.
