Reminds me of the old joke of the guy confronted by the wildlife/fishing agent about using dynamite while fishing. He hands the agent a lit stick, and asks, "you gonna talk or fish?"

Heck Craig Taigh's flown the B-24, B-17, B-25 among others. This PV-2D was donated to their museum and they basically got it for free other than parts and manpower.

Scott, It's good to know that another old girl has been saved from the scrap pile. You're a fortunate group to have those toys to play with. You said you may be painting it soon. Any idea what type of paint scheme it will be given?

Interesting. Is that the most appropriate scheme for this particular variant? Do you have any idea when this particular aircraft was actually built?

Her data plate shows a manufacture date of 45, not sure of the month. I know a few D models made it to Alaska and a couple islands in the south Pacific. This one was made then in 46 or 47 (I think) sold for scrap.

Guys,
If you have the means to do so, it's not all that hard to join either WOA or the CAF. Find a squadron or a wing near you if possible. If that's out, maybe a museum or group like Collings or another museum with airworthy aircraft like the chief is with. You can become a crew member very easy. Again, if you have the means.
