Sometimes I think the FARB label is quickly dispensed by those whose don't have a clue of what their looking at. From my own personal experience, I've been called a "farb" several times by those who haven't the slightest inclination of what I'm portraying.
I believe that while it may be a good idea for those of us who portray less-than-familiar/popular impressions to carry/present documentation, it should also apply to those who are all to quick to throw the Farb Card to provide proof of their own to back this accusation.

I agree. Far to often I have heard the call of the farb hunter, only to find that the person doesn't know what he is talking about.
If you call "farb" on somebody, you better have three deep documentation to prove them wrong, otherwise, you are just being a douche bag...

Unless the farbtastic item is clearly farby, i.e. a digital watch. No documentation needed there. But I see what you mean. I don't diss a person just because they are wearing/using/driving something that I dont know about. I only pounce when I KNOW it's wrong.

"Fugly-Anachronistic-Recreated-Bu**s**t?"
Fun post I'm enjoying hearing all the ideas. Its interesting becaus it is a reenacting-wide term. Ive reenacted nearly every major period and everybody says FARB and it means the same thing.

All: Stop arguing! There IS a very well-made "Farb Language Guide" in the manner of a WWII Language Guide available. Go to: www.freewebs.com/willysmb44/ and go down about halfway and there it is. A number of fellow reenactors (including myself) contributed to this and the result is very funny. Well worth the the $6. Jay

Hey there! It's great to hear you've been reenacting for so long! FARB actually stands for "Farb-Arse Reenactor Brigade." It's a term used to describe reenactors who aren't historically accurate in their portrayal. These folks tend to wear modern items or get historical details wrong. It's all about striving for authenticity in historical reenactments. If you're looking to brush up on your historical accuracy or need some assistance with research for your reenactments, I've found buy essays online cheap to be incredibly helpful. They've assisted me in crafting historically accurate essays and papers, providing thorough research and attention to detail. Their service could be just what you need to enhance your reenacting experience.
